Principality branch celebrates 50 years at the heart of Shrewsbury
Principality Building Society is celebrating 50 years at the heart of Shrewsbury.
Wales’ largest building society, which has 53 branches and 17 agencies in Wales and the borders, has been based in the town since 1964.
To thank the community for supporting the branch over the last 50 years, Principality held a birthday party for customers.
David Critcher, Principality’s regional manager, said: “We are proud to be at the heart of Shrewsbury and have been astounded by the support from the community during the last 50 years. We are thrilled to be celebrating half a century of being based in the town and we look forward to many more years of working in the local community.”
Customers were treated to some cake at the anniversary party last week. Events will also be taking part throughout the year.
Damian Thompson, Principality’s Director of Distribution, said: “We are committed to our heartland of Wales and the borders and strongly believe that the people deserve choice, diversity and excellent customer service in the financial marketplace. Our Shrewsbury branch has helped to increase competition in the town centre and bring further financial choice to people in the town and since then we have also opened an agency in Shrewsbury to provide more options for our customers.
“While a number of financial institutions have chosen to withdraw from local communities Principality believes a trusted, face to face service, delivered from the high street is still vitally important and should complement the work that takes place in our other channels– online and the telephone call centre – to work together effectively for the benefit of Members and customers. ”
