David Gray Home is the nicest word there is

What does home mean to you?

Here at Principality we know that the word home means something different to everyone. We asked three popular Illustrators to express what home meant to them, see the designs below.

This illustration has been created by Merlin Evans, a London based illustrator who is passionate about recording the world in all its intricate detail. Her Shakespearian quote comes from the play As You Like It, and as she explains on her blog, 'if you can't unwind and enjoying 'wasting' our time at home, life would soon feel too much like hard work'. Click here* to read the full blog post and understand her thinking behind his illustration.

I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it by Merlin Evans

The following illustration is from Dave Gray, a versatile designer/illustrator based in the West Midlands. He picked a quote from Laura Inglass Wilder because it made him stop and think about how important our homes are and how homes can mean lots of different things to each of us. The final illustration of Ellie Rodriguez's famous quote comes from Harriet Russell, a freelance illustrator who lives and works in London. Click here* to view the work below and other art work on her blog.
