Wales’ largest building society appoints new Marketing Director

Principality Building Society has strengthened its award-winning marketing team with the appointment of Anne-Marie Koukourava as its new Marketing Director.

Anne-Marie, who has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, will be responsible for communications, product management, customer strategy, campaigns and sponsorship in her new role at Wales’ largest building society.

She will also be developing the Society’s brand and customer proposition across all channels to ensure that Principality is as relevant to its Members in the future as it is today. 

Anne-Marie began her career at Standard Chartered Bank, where she held a number of marketing and business development roles, before moving to Lloyds Banking Group where she worked as Customer Management and Marketing Director and Director of Strategy and Planning.

She then moved to Royal London Group as a Strategic Marketing Consultant before taking up the role as Head of Wealth and Savings at HSBC.

Anne-Marie, who lives in Cardiff, said: “Principality is a company that I have always wanted to work for, known for its mutual ethos -putting members at the heart of the business - and a fantastic reputation within Wales. 

“I am passionate about this business and our customers and will be building a clear marketing strategy and focus that will ensure that this business continues to evolve its communication, product offering and service to retain our current customer base, attract new customers and meet our members’ needs for many years to come.”

Julie-Ann Haines, Principality’s Customer Director, said: “I am delighted that Anne-Marie has joined the team and am confident that she will ensure that our marketing function continues to win awards for its excellence. Anne-Marie brings substantial experience to the Society and will help us to design a clear marketing strategy to grow this business and improve our communications, product offering and member engagement.”

Anne-Marie is married and has two sons. In her spare time she also volunteers as Marketing Director for Basketball Wales.
