    What is a pension?

    A pension is a long-term investment that helps you prepare for your retirement. When you retire, your pension fund is usually converted into pension income, which is paid to you until you die.

  • Pensions are an extremely tax-efficient way of investing for your retirement, because the Government adds the tax you pay onto your investment. So if, for example, you pay £80 into your pension, £20 is added from the Government, to make a total of £100. What’s more, you can usually take up to 25% of your pension pot as a tax-free lump sum, at retirement.

  • Our pension planning is provided by Aviva, one of the UK’s leading life and pensions providers. Aviva offer a variety of products, including personal pensions and stakeholder pensions, to help you plan for a better retirement. The value of a pension fund can go down as well as up and is not guaranteed. As with all investments, there is a risk that you may get back less than you invested.
