Principality Commercial and Portabella celebrate continued success
Principality Commercial and property developer Portabella are celebrating further success at the St Winefride’s development in Pontcanna, Cardiff, where contracts have been exchanged in advance of the completion of the build of all apartments in the latest phase of development.
The commercial arm of the Principality Building Society has helped to fund all phases of Portabella’s £25m development at the former St Winefride’s nursing home and hospital, a local landmark building, built in 1938 in the grounds of The Lindens, a Victorian villa.
Portabella, the new identity of award-winning property developers, Loosemore, is now completing The Apartments, the third stage of the St Winefride’s development.
David Loosemore, Managing Director of Portabella said: “We must applaud Principality Commercial for sharing our vision of this, our biggest project to date, and having the confidence in us and our ability to deliver St Winefride’s, which commenced during a difficult climate for the property market.
“Now that the sun is shining once more on our sector, we are pleased to be celebrating the success of St Winefride’s and our ongoing partnership with Principality.”
A luxury, gated development in the heart of Pontcanna, The Apartments phase of the St Winefride’s comprises 33 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses. The final phase, The Lindens, is due to be released towards the end of the year.
Gareth Redding, Head of the Relationship Team at Principality Commercial, said: “St Winefride’s has been a great success and exemplifies our partnership approach with leading independent Welsh housing developers like Portabella.
“We look forward to building on this success and moving forward with future projects with David and his growing team.”
The first phase of seven terraced houses at St Winefride’s – The Terrace sold out prior to completion last year, with the second phase of 12 townhouses – The Crescent – also sold out prior to completion.
Buyers are set to begin moving into The Apartments in September this year.
