Introducing our Principality Mortgage New Business Team
Anthony Fisher is the Senior Manager of the Mortgage New Business team at Principality. We caught up with him to find out more about his team and how they help our brokers' network.
How is your team structured?
The department is made up of 60 full time colleagues which includes seven managers as well as senior underwriters, underwriters, telephony staff and associates.
How does your team support brokers?
The department deals with all aspects post application including underwriting, providing case updates, telephony support, third party liaison (including surveyors and solicitors) and completions. Once the application has been submitted, the team are here to ensure the process runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
What are your team's objectives?
The team are committed to delivering a first class service to our customers. Our objectives are very much in-line with Principality Building Society brand values - doing the right thing and putting the customer at the heart of what we do to help our customers prosper in their homes at every stage of their lives.
Is there anything you would like to inform our broker networks about?
The team provide a human touch throughout the application process. Once your case has been assigned to an underwriter, we make a welcome call during which the underwriter will introduce themselves and discuss the case with brokers. Our underwriting team are available throughout the day to answer queries that brokers may have on cases that they have submitted. Throughout the process the underwriter will keep them informed and updated.
What improvements have we made to make working with principality Building Society better for brokers?
We have focused strongly on our communication, understanding that keeping brokers informed, updated and explaining our rationale (even if we are declining a case) is important to them. The introduction of welcome calls to our brokers by the assigned underwriter, supported by the fact that the underwriter is available to speak to them throughout the process, has significantly enhanced the way we can do business with out brokers.
