Principality Commercial nominated for Lender of the Year award
Principality Commercial is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for Lender of the Year award in the Wales Insider Property Awards 2017.
In Wales alone Principality assisted on 56 new projects or property deals worth £59 million.
Highlights in the past year include:
- Purpose built 90 bed student accommodation developed on car park land at the rear of offices on Dumfries Place, Cardiff;
- Arbor Vale – housing provision geared to the over-50s market on the site of the former Bryneithin Nursing Home in Dinas Powys;
- Great House Farm – providing funding for the second phase of this environmentally sustainable, award-winning, residential development in St Fagans.
Managing Director Peter Hughes said: “We are particularly proud to be nominated for this award because a very high incidence of parties involved are indigenous Welsh businesses – showing our commitment to invest in our own communities."
“Principality Commercial has assisted the property markets in Wales and England with funding to develop new and innovative properties.
“The exciting project at The Mill at Canton captures our ethos of helping people into homes. Here we have been pivotal in negotiations with multiple public and private sector stakeholders to regenerate this disused paper mill into an 800 unit urban village. Forty-five per cent of the site is designated for home ownership with 55 per cent earmarked as an affordable private rented scheme – one of the largest affordable housing schemes in the UK. We are also working on similar schemes in Tonyrefail and Newport.

The awards ceremony takes place on 29th June in Cardiff.
