New development brings luxury homes to centre of Penarth

A new housing development in Penarth which boasts a central location and sea views of the Bristol Channel is now complete.

The Stanwell Road development in the heart of Penarth has been funded by Principality Commercial, the commercial arm of Wales’ largest building society, and Oculus Crescent, a joint venture between Silver Crescent Developments and Oculus Key. The building was formerly commercial offices for the Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, but had been vacant for years.

The development, in the sought-after location in Penarth, comprises seven luxury apartments and one townhouse, all with balconies or garden areas and secure parking. The apartments offer en-suite bedrooms, an open plan kitchen and living room, and are close-by to amenities in Penarth.

The apartments start at £475,000 and following the launch on Wednesday 31st January, five units were sold with only two apartments and the townhouse available. The development has set a record for price per square foot in Cardiff and Penarth.

Chad Griffiths, Relationship Manager at Principality Commercial said: “The Stanwell Road development brings luxury apartments to one of the most sought after locations in South Wales. The apartments are high quality thanks to Silver Crescent, bringing new life to this unused building.

“This is just one of a number of schemes that Principality Commercial has been working on in South Wales and we continue to work with a range of local developers to finance schemes that provide jobs and homes to the people of Wales.”

The development by Principality Commercial follows on from other successful projects across South Wales, including coastal apartments in Ogmore, eco-living homes in St Fagans and an extensive homebuilding project at The Mill in Ely.

Kashif Ahmed and Bradley Stubbs of Oculus Crescent “Our focus is on delivering bespoke and signature developments with buildings that have character which require careful planning and attention to retain their uniqueness. Our concept was to juxtapose a historic building alongside modern architectural design, enabling home owners the desirability of the warmth and character of a period building with the benefits of modern living. Each apartment is unique in layout and design, with exceptional panoramic south facing sea views. We are delighted to have set sales records in South Wales. We are looking forward to continue our excellent working relationship with Principality to develop more signature homes. ”
