Success for Principality at the Insider Wales Property Awards

Principality’s Commercial Team scooped two awards at the 2023 Insider Wales Property Awards. 

The awards, which were held at Cardiff City Hall, celebrated the work of the country’s property and construction sector in the last twelve months, with firms and individuals being honoured for their efforts. 

The team took home the title of Funder of the Year due to their £50m advance to Welsh Housing Association Pobl and for funding 370 new homes. There was also special recognition for Senior Portfolio Manager Chad Griffiths, who was named Emerging Property Person of the Year, for his commitment to driving sustainability in housing developments. 

A project funded by the Principality Commercial team also won Residential Development of the Year. The Laundry Quarter site in Cardiff was completed by Portabella, and has brought 34 houses and apartments to the Pontcanna area of the city. 

Speaking about his award, Chad said, “I was delighted to be nominated for the award and it was a very welcome surprise to win it! It was great to hear how the judges have recognised and valued the efforts that Principality are making to fund low carbon and sustainable homes. It’s an area that I am particularly passionate about and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do to further these efforts in the future.”
