Supporting a cider factory transformation in Devon
In this case study
How we helped
We’re delighted to support ATA Estates with this re-development of derelict barns into high quality homes in the South Devon countryside.
A brownfield site, this previous cider factory has been transformed into Apple Orchard, a collection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom barn conversions. Working with ATA Estates since 2017, this is the third development we have supported them with, providing £2.2million in loan funding for this project.
Tom Pratt of ATA Estates said “It has been a pleasure working with Principality Commercial on our scheme at Apple Orchard, Staverton. The whole team have proved themselves to be reactive and supportive of our business needs and we very much look forward to working together on the next project”.
More about this project
ATA have a track record of taking unloved older buildings and turning them into exceptional homes across the South West. This development aims to deliver 11 new homes into the local market close to the village of Staverton near Totnes.
The development aims to complement its rural setting. Management of well-established hedgerows, bird boxes, bat lofts and refuge areas for hedgehogs and amphibians aim to enhance the ecology of the site. The needs of 21st century residents have also been considered with low-maintenance energy features and access to fibre technology.
Chad Griffiths, Senior Portfolio Manager at Principality Commercial commented “We are proud to have supported this project which encapsulates Principality’s commitment to providing more homes for local communities and more people living in a home they desire.”
The first properties were available in 2024, most of the homes have been sold with some still available for purchase.
