Charity

We're excited to announce that Principality has a new charity partnership with two outstanding charities, Teenage Cancer Trust (registered charity number 1062559) and Alzheimer's Society Cymru (registered charity number 296645).

From January 2019 and for the next three years, we’re committed to supporting these charities who are paving the way with research, treatment and care, so no one has to face any of this alone.

Teenage Cancer Trust Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru provide expert treatment and support for young people with cancer, aged between 14 and 24. Their services, which include a dedicated cancer unit in Cardiff, provide life-changing care and support, so that young people don’t have to face cancer alone. Find out more about the services they provide at https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/about-us/what-we-do *

Alzheimer's Society Cymru are committed to finding a cure for Dementia by funding important research throughout the country. Along with providing support for those who are living day to day with the disease. Find out more about the services they provide at  https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/ *

We're committed to passing on that winning feeling to our charities, that’s why for every game Wales win in the Guinness Six Nations, we will be donating £10,000 between our new charities. Pop in to branch to see how the team are doing with our chart.

Although we launched two new charities partners in 2019, it is important we recognise the amazing work that our colleagues achieved with our last charity partnerships (2016-2018). Take a look at our highlights below:

What does this means for our charities?

2018 was a record breaking year for our fundraising with over £220,000* being donated to our charities, and a total of £504,000 for the three-year partnership term. Our first multi-year / multi charity partnerships come to end with each of the partners reporting continued success, with Llamau helping over 500 people gain over 1000 qualifications through their Learning for Life Centres, Cancer Research Wales continuing to fund life saving research, and SOHK keeping over 300 pupils in work and helping over 120 unemployed adults.
