Principality Building Society celebrates 50 years in Penarth

There was cause for celebration in Penarth, as Principality Building Society celebrated the 50th birthday of their branch on Stanwell Road. 

To celebrate the special occasion, members and customers were invited to the branch and greeted by staff with cakes and refreshments.

The big day followed news earlier this year that Principality Building Society will commit to a presence on the High Street for the next four years. Principality has the largest high street brand presence of any bank or building society in Wales with 53 branches and 16 agencies across Welsh high streets and the borders.

Vicky Wales, Chief Customer Officer at Principality said: “We’re delighted to have celebrated this very special day with our branch in Penarth. It’s a testament to the present team, and all of our colleagues who have been involved in the branch’s story, which now spans an incredible 50 years!

‘’Whilst many towns and cities across Wales have seen a decline in banking services available to them on the high street, our members and customers tell us they really value the local face-to-face services our colleagues in branch provide and we recognise this. We’d like to thank our members for continuing to use our services, from those who were amongst the first visitors to our branch in Penarth 50 years ago, to those who join us to celebrate.”
