Our Members
Being a mutual Building Society means that we are owned by and run for the benefit of our 500,000 Members. As we do not have any shareholder interests to satisfy, all our profits are put back into your Society, to benefit you, our Members.
What is a Member?
You are a Member of Principality if you are over 18, and have a Mortgage or Savings account with us.
Being a Member gives you the right to:
- Make your voice heard
- Challenge the way your Society is run
- Ask questions of the Board
If you are over 18 and have over £100 in a savings account, or over £100 owing on a mortgage account you will also have voting rights at our Annual General Meeting.
- For further details on being a Member, you can read our Principality Building Society Rules.
- For further details on what being a mutual building society means, you can read our page on A Mutual Building Society.
Make your voice heard
Listening to Members helps us to understand where we need to focus and improve, but also what we must continue to do. There are many ways we do this including through online and in-Branch feedback.
In 2021, we were proud to launch Member Pulse, an online community of Members across Wales and the UK whom we can consult with, and get views and feedback on in real time and on a frequent basis.
The community has had a great input into key areas of the society, including:
- Product feedback
- Literature testing
- Diversity and inclusion survey
- Strategy discussions
- Sustainability
We would love to have as many Members to sign up to Member Pulse as possible, to ensure we build the future of our Society, together.
If you’ve got ideas about how we can make Principality work for you, let’s hear it. Our online community, Member Pulse, puts you at the heart of what we do.
As a progressive mutual society, we want to hear from our Members. See how you can have your say here.
Our Board have a wide range of skills and experience and this enables them to enhance our Members’ dividend. Meet them here.
