Principality Commercial scoops up awards at the Cardiff Property Awards

Principality Commercial has received three awards for its commitment to supporting the delivery of housing in Wales.

The Cardiff Property Awards, which celebrated the dynamic property sector in Cardiff on November 26th, saw Principality Commercial take home the Green Initiative award, Financial award and Winner of Winners award.

The commercial arm of Wales largest building society received the Green Initiative accolade for its launch of the  £20 million Green Fund in 2021, which gives housing developers financial incentives for the delivery of environmentally friendly homes. 

Principality Commercial was awarded the Financial award for the way it has continued to lend during the pandemic, including its commitment to supporting affordable housing in Wales by lending £45 million to housing associations nationwide since 2020. This includes providing £10m in financing to Family Housing Association who are developing more affordable housing in south and west Wales.

For the Winner of Winners award, Principality Commercial was quoted by the judges as playing ‘a defining role in the local property market’, providing financing for developments with Candleston in Abergavenny, Pennant Homes in Bridgend and Morgan Homes in Pembrokeshire, all of which support increased housing opportunities for local communities in Wales.
